AIM Rope Access supported AMCO with boundary and watercourse restoration works at Knowbrae Culvert in Kirkconnel. The project focused on reinstating the culvert profile and improving water flow through a section that had experienced long‑term deterioration.
Across six night shifts, our team carried out vegetation clearance, silt removal and the installation of faggots and fascines to stabilise the culvert and reduce further erosion. Rope access technicians established safe access points, while silt‑mitigation measures and continuous water‑level monitoring ensured compliance with environmental requirements.
Faggots were installed along the downstream end of the culvert to retain silt and support the reinstated profile. All works were completed safely and efficiently, with minimal impact on the surrounding watercourse and infrastructure.
