AIM supported AMCO in delivering essential boundary and watercourse restoration works at Knowbrae Culvert, Kirkconnel. The project focused on reinstating the culvert profile and improving water flow through a section that had deteriorated significantly over time.

Working over six night shifts, our team carried out vegetation clearance, silt removal, and the installation of faggots and fascines to stabilise the culvert structure and prevent further erosion. IRATA Level 3 rope access technicians established safe access points, while silt mitigation measures and continuous water‑level monitoring ensured environmental protection throughout the works.

The faggots were securely installed along the downstream end of the culvert, creating a natural barrier to retain silt and support the reinstated profile. All activities were completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with site and environmental requirements.

This project highlights AIM’s capability in delivering specialist watercourse and boundary works in challenging environments, ensuring long‑term stability and improved flow through critical drainage infrastructure.
